September is designated as the National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and we would like to honor those who are battling or have battled this disease. Ovarian cancer is also know as the “silent killer” due to the lack of visible symptoms. This means that most women are not diagnosed until the disease has begun to spread, which is why it is also one of the most deadly of women’s cancers. It is important for women to understand the possible symptoms of ovarian cancer.
These symptoms include:
- Bloating
- Pelvic/Abdominal pain
- Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
- Urinary urgency or frequency
Other symptoms may include:
- Nausea, indigestion, gas, constipation or diarrhea
